Borderlands 4: To Preorder or Not?

Borderlands 4 is making waves with its super deluxe edition, which costs almost twice as much as the standard version. This edition includes the base game plus a bunch of extras like weapon skins, character packs, and additional content. The main draw is the extra DLC and playable characters that come with the Bounty Pack Bundle and the Vault Hunter Pack. These add-ons offer new areas, missions, bosses, and regions to explore, along with two extra characters not found in the base game.
If you're thinking about preordering, consider a few things. First, are you okay with paying full price? Second, do you care about the preorder bonus? Third, do you want to play the game as soon as it comes out? The price isn't likely to drop significantly until next year, so if you're eager to start playing right away, preordering makes sense. The bonus items are mostly skins and weapons, so if those don't matter to you, the main benefit is getting the game on day one.
However, like many big-budget games, expect some bugs and glitches at launch. The developers have already mentioned a day-one patch, and more updates will probably follow. If you want a smooth gaming experience, it might be better to wait a bit until these issues are fixed.
Personally, waiting for a discount is appealing because paying full price for any game feels steep. The excitement to play co-op with family is real, but with a retired parent who might finish the game quickly, there's no rush to buy it right away.
