Boston Scientific is on the move. The company's neuromodulation division, currently based in Valencia, is relocating to a new spot nearby. This shift is notable because it marks a change in the company's footprint in the area. The new location is the former home of Scorpion, a marketing firm. This building is smaller than their current space in the Santa Clarita biomedical park. Jeff Trauring, the company's communications director, confirmed the move. He mentioned that the new place better fits their needs. The company has signed a 10-year lease and plans to move in phases, starting later this year. Back in 2017, Boston Scientific leased a large space in the Southern California Innovation Park. This area was previously known as Mann Biomedical Park. The company's Neuromodulation Group operates here, focusing on advanced technology for chronic pain and neurological diseases. The move comes after some changes in ownership. In 2021, Cantor Fitzgerald, the company's landlord, bought Boston Scientific's Valencia headquarters. This deal included a significant portion of the space but not all of it.The former Scorpion headquarters is a four-story office building. It was built in 2017 and originally housed about 400 employees. However, Scorpion decided to move its headquarters to Salt Lake City in 2021. Now, only a fraction of those employees remain in the area. The Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation (SCV EDC) is aware of the situation. However, they couldn't comment on any ongoing projects. They did mention working closely with Boston Scientific and local authorities. Boston Scientific's share price has seen a significant increase over the past few years. This growth reflects the company's strong performance in the market. The company plans to sublease the current space, but details on the new tenants are scarce. The move is expected to take place in phases, starting in late 2026. This timeline suggests that the company will be occupying the new space for most of the remaining lease period. The exact details of the transition remain unclear.
