Boston's Big Snowfall and the Chilly Days Ahead

Boston got a big surprise on Sunday night. A huge snowstorm hit the city, dropping between 4 to 6 inches of snow. Some areas, like Taunton, got even more, with up to 7 inches. This was the biggest snowfall of the season so far. At Logan Airport, they recorded 5. 3 inches of snow. That's almost half of what they've seen all winter. The last time they got this much snow in one go was way back in December 2024. But the snow wasn't the only thing to worry about. After the storm, a blast of arctic air moved in. This made Tuesday morning super cold, with wind chills dropping to just 5 degrees. It was a quick cold snap, though, and by Wednesday and Thursday, things started to warm up a bit.However, don't get too comfortable. Another cold front is expected to hit by late Friday night. This one is expected to bring dangerously low wind chills, around 10 degrees below zero. This cold weather is expected to stick around into the following week. There's also talk of another storm coming in by the end of next weekend. But it's too early to say if it will affect southern New England. For now, the main concern is the cold weather. With all this snow and cold, it's important to stay safe. If you have to work outside, take breaks to warm up. Cover up well to avoid frostbite, and watch out for icy surfaces.
