Bowling High Scores and Soccer Wins: Youth Sports Spotlight

Last weekend was a big one for youth sports in the area. At Sunset Bowling Center, several young bowlers hit impressive high scores. In the Bantams division, Aiden Testa led the boys with a score of 51, while Lylah Baheza topped the girls with a score of 19. The Preps division saw Hunter McComb and Gage Kilpatrick tie for the boys' high score with 153, and Erin Dougherty led the girls with 106. The Juniors division had Matthew Chavez leading the boys with a score of 276, and Rosy Gallegos leading the girls with 202. Several other bowlers also scored over 200, including Byron Hammett, Connor Banks, and Gavin Grossglauser.
In soccer, the Sting FC 2009 Academy boys had a successful weekend. They beat Valencia 4-0 on Saturday, with goals from Isaac Lowder, Ethan Luna, Taylor Smith, and Kesh Puhlman. On Sunday, they defeated Seattle Celtic 2-0, with Miles Hart and Isaac Lowder scoring.
The youth basketball leagues also had some exciting games. In the Spirit Lake Parks and Recreation league, Cup of Grace beat AGE Heating & Cooling 36-14, with Railey Howe scoring 8 points. In the Rathdrum Parks and Recreation league, the Meatballs team beat the French Dips 22-16, with Brooks Walker scoring 10 points.
