Brussels, the heart of Europe, is facing yet another night of violence. Early on Thursday, two individuals were shot and injured during a clash between rival groups. The incident took place near the bustling Gare du Midi station, a popular spot for Eurostar travelers. Police were called to Place de Bethleem around 2:30 AM GMT, where they found the wounded and gun cartridges scattered around.
Two suspects were taken into custody, but the injuries to the victims were not life-threatening. The prosecutor's office is investigating the incident, but they are not yet sure if it's connected to the city's ongoing issue with drug gangs. This is not an isolated event. Brussels has been dealing with violent crime for years, with over 100 of Europe's most dangerous criminal networks operating in Belgium.
