Budget Hearing and Voting Day Arranged for Madison Residents
Madison, CT, USASat Mar 21 2026
Madison’s Board of Finance will open the floor to public comments this month, setting the stage for a town budget vote scheduled for April 28. Voters will have access to polling stations from dawn until dusk, according to town officials.
The proposed budget for the 2026‑27 fiscal year is outlined on the municipal website. It includes both town and educational expenditures, totaling just over $103 million—a 3. 74 percent rise from last year’s figure.
A public hearing is slated for March 31 at seven in the evening. The meeting will take place on campus, in a designated room, and will also stream online via Zoom. All community members are encouraged to attend, as the hearing offers a chance to discuss and shape the budget before it reaches voters.
Information about upcoming workshops, recorded sessions, and past meeting minutes is also posted online. These resources help residents stay informed about how the town’s finances are being planned and managed.
On election day, voting locations will differ by district. District 1 will use the senior center on Bradley Road, while District 2 will hold its polls at an intermediate school on Durham Road. Absentee ballots become available by early April, and a new drop box is now accepting applications for secure ballot return.
Residents who need more details about absentee voting or general election procedures can reach out to the town clerk by phone or visit the official website. Note that early voting is not an option for this referendum.
