Campbell's VP Out After Insulting Customers and Products
USAThu Nov 27 2025
A top executive at Campbell's is no longer with the company after a recording surfaced where he allegedly made offensive remarks about customers and products. The executive, Martin Bally, was the vice president of information technology. Campbell's confirmed that the voice on the recording is Bally's.
The recording, which was secretly made by a former employee, Robert Garza, shows Bally making derogatory comments. He allegedly called Campbell's products "shit for poor people" and said they were "unhealthy. " He also made a joke about the chicken being "3D-printed. " Campbell's quickly responded, saying these descriptions are "patently absurd. "
Garza claims he was fired for speaking up about Bally's behavior. He filed a lawsuit in Michigan, accusing Bally of insulting customers and colleagues. The recording was not part of the lawsuit, but Garza's law firm shared it with Business Insider.
Campbell's has apologized for the hurt caused by Bally's comments. They stated that such behavior does not reflect their company values. The company first heard about the recording on the same day Garza filed his lawsuit.
The remarks sparked outrage online and even caught the attention of Florida's Attorney General. James Uthmeier said he would look into the matter because of Florida's ban on lab-grown meat. Campbell's has not commented further on the situation.
