Captain America's Post-Credits: A Missed Opportunity?

Sat Feb 15 2025
So, you've just watched Captain America: Brave New World, and you're wondering what's up with that end-credits scene. Well, let's break it down. First off, Sam Wilson, aka Captain America, finds himself back at the Raft. This time, his arm is all healed up, which is a bit of a mystery. He's there to chat with the movie's big bad, Samuel Sterns, who's got a super brain thanks to some gamma radiation. Sterns, who comic fans know as the Leader, has a knack for seeing possible futures, kind of like Doctor Strange. Sam and Sterns have a little back-and-forth, and then Sterns drops a hint about something big coming. He talks about other worlds and other heroes, which we already know about thanks to movies like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Loki. Sterns says it's "plain as day, " but honestly, it's not that surprising. We've known about the multiverse for a while now. The scene ends with a message saying "Captain America will return. " But really, it's just a teaser for Avengers: Secret Wars, which is coming out in 2027. It's like they're trying to build suspense, but we already know what's coming. This end-credits scene is a bit of a letdown. It's just two characters talking about movies we already know are happening. It could have been so much more. For instance, what about a cool reveal about the new president? Or maybe a hint at what's happening with the adamantium? Or even a teaser for the Thunderbolts? There were so many possibilities, but instead, we get a boring trailer for movies we already know about. It's a shame, really. This movie could have ended on a much more exciting note. But hey, at least we know what's coming next in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
