A young man from Somerville found himself in big trouble after an incident at Boston's Museum of Science. The 24-year-old, Yandri Hernandez, was accused of attacking a teenage girl in the museum's bathroom. This happened on a Sunday when the girl, just 15, was visiting with a friend.
Hernandez was hiding in a stall, wearing black clothes and distinctive black-and-white sneakers, which caught the attention of a witness. When the girl went to wash her hands, she felt a hand cover her mouth. She thought it was her friend at first but then saw Hernandez behind her. She screamed and ran out, with Hernandez following before quickly fleeing.
State Police, who responded to the scene, used video footage to track down Hernandez. They spotted him in Somerville the next day and arrested him. The case has raised concerns about safety at public places. "This is a scary incident, especially for a teenager," said District Attorney Kevin Hayden.
