In a warm and meaningful event held at the Kootenai County Courthouse, the Mental Health Court marked its 20th anniversary. The program has been instrumental in helping individuals battle serious mental illnesses, addiction, and past traumas through closely monitored therapy and rehabilitation classes.
Three graduates shared their stories of triumph. Ricky Robles highlighted that pushing through initial difficulties pays off greatly. Christine Cordea agreed, saying the program gave her a strong sense of self-worth and accomplishment. Meanwhile, Dylan McBride is set to graduate next month and reflects on the valuable lessons learned during his journey.
Judge John T. Mitchell has been leading MHC for these two decades. He was honored with a plaque and certificate for his unwavering dedication in easing suffering and seeing potential in those who struggle. As Mayli Walsh takes over as the new presiding judge, she steps into an environment filled with hope, healing, and second chances.
