Celebrities Left in the Dark About Jesus Podcast
USAFri Nov 21 2025
A bunch of famous actors were caught off guard when they found out their voices were used in a new podcast about Jesus. The podcast, called \"The Life of Jesus, \" is a 52-episode series that Fox News plans to release. Each episode is about 30 minutes long and features a different celebrity voicing a biblical figure.
Kristen Bell, Brian Cox, and others had no idea their voices would be used in this podcast. They recorded their parts years ago for a different project called \"Truth & Life Dramatized Audio Bible. \" None of them knew their recordings would be reused for this new podcast until just a few days before it was announced.
Representatives for these actors said they didn't give permission for their voices to be used in this way. Kristen Bell's rep said she only found out about the podcast when she was asked to promote it on Fox & Friends. Malcolm McDowell's publicist said he recorded his voice for a different project 15 years ago and had no idea it would be used here.
John Rhys-Davies and Brian Cox also said they didn't know about the podcast until recently. A spokesperson for Fox News said all the actors involved gave their full cooperation and participation. But some people are questioning why the actors weren't told about the podcast sooner.
A producer for the podcast even asked the actors not to mention that the audio was recorded years ago. They wanted it to sound like it was made more recently. This has raised some eyebrows and left people wondering about how the project was handled.
