Winning ten out of their first thirteen games, the Celtics are on a roll. Can they keep up the pace? They’re facing the Toronto Raptors tonight, but there’s a big question mark regarding one of their key players, Jrue Holiday. With a left knee issue, he might call it a night. That could be a tough one to swallow. Jrue's been performing exceptionally, averaging 12. 8 points and 4 assists. On the bright side, Kristaps Porzingis is nearing a comeback from his offseason foot surgery.
The Raptors also have their share of troubles. Guys like Scottie Barnes, with an orbital fracture, and Bruce Bowen and Kelly Olynyk, nursing knee and back issues, aren’t taking to the court. Even rookie Ja’Kobe Walter is sidelined with a shoulder injury. Despite these setbacks, both teams will have to find a way to fill these holes in their lineups.
For the Celtics, if Holiday can’t play, JD Davison might start. Payton Pritchard’s been solid off the bench, averaging 16. 2 points and shooting 42. 7% from the three. Meanwhile, the Raptors are struggling, with only two wins under their belt so far. Will the Celtics extend their winning streak even with potential key players missing? Only the game will tell.
