Charlotte, North Carolina, is becoming a hotspot for law firms. Paul Hastings just opened a new office there. They brought in some big names from other firms. Danyeale Chung from Cadwalader and Holly Loftis, Aleks Kopec, and Mark Nesdill from Haynes Boone are now leading the team. Paul Hastings expects more lawyers to join them soon. About 15 more are expected from both Cadwalader and Haynes Boone. This is not the first time Charlotte has seen such moves. Other big firms like Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe and Proskauer Rose have also set up shop here recently.
Why is Charlotte so attractive? It's home to many lenders and big companies. Holly Loftis said it's a smart investment for law firms. Paul Hastings already has a strong practice in this area. That was a big draw for the new team. Cadwalader is not left behind. They say their fund finance team is the largest in the market. They hired over 20 new lawyers in 2025. Cadwalader is also merging with Hogan Lovells. This merger will create a huge firm with 3, 100 lawyers and $3. 6 billion in revenue. The legal market in Charlotte is getting crowded. But it's clear why. The city has a lot to offer. Law firms are betting big on this growing hub.
