Chemicals Found in Suspect's Storage Unit: Bourbon Street Investigation Update
Houston, TX, USA,Wed Jan 08 2025
The FBI in Houston recently made an interesting discovery while investigating the Bourbon Street attack suspect, Shamsud-Din Jabbar. During a search at a storage unit on Walters Road, agents found bottles of sulfuric acid hidden in a cooler. This storage unit was just a mile away from Jabbar's home on Crescent Peak Drive. Investigators assured the public that there's no current safety threat related to this finding. The attack, which happened on New Year's Day in New Orleans, left 14 people dead and over 30 injured. Jabbar drove a truck into a crowd of revelers on Bourbon Street. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities trying to uncover Jabbar's actions and motives.
Customers at the storage facility were surprised to learn about the connection to the Bourbon Street attack. One customer, Earnest Washington, expressed disbelief that such an incident could happen so close to home. He wondered what else might be hidden in the storage units and suggested that Jabbar might have chosen the location because it was quiet. The FBI in New Orleans also released a new surveillance image of Jabbar riding a bike in the French Quarter before the attack, part of their efforts to trace his movements. However, the intended use of the sulfuric acid remains undisclosed.
