The city of Aurora is preparing for this by opening a warming center, offering meals and cots for sleeping. The center has been busy, with most cots full every night. Aurora's mayor has made it a priority to open warming centers whenever the temperature dips below 32 degrees, aiming to prevent deaths from exposure to the cold. The mayor's initiative highlights the seriousness of the situation and the importance of having a warm place to stay during extreme weather. The coldest part of the weekend is expected to be Sunday morning, just before the Chicago Bears game at Soldier Field. Although winds may ease up by Sunday afternoon, it will still be bitterly cold, with wind chills ranging from -5 to -10 during the game. However, there is some good news: a warming trend is expected next week, with temperatures potentially climbing into the 40s by Wednesday.
