Chiefs Win Big, But Mahomes' Ankle is a Concern
Kansas City, USAMon Dec 16 2024
Patrick Mahomes didn't finish the game due to an ankle injury, but the Kansas City Chiefs still comfortably beat the mistake-filled Cleveland Browns, 21-7. Mahomes threw two touchdowns, one to Juju Smith-Schuster and another to Noah Gray, in the first half. Xavier Worthy added a rushing score. Mahomes' injury is concerning, especially with the Chiefs playing again in a few days.
The Browns struggled with six turnovers, including three interceptions by quarterback Jameis Winston. Cleveland's only touchdown came from a long run by Jerome Ford. The Browns' star running back, Nick Chubb, broke his foot and Myles Garrett injured his eye but returned to the game.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid is hopeful Mahomes' ankle isn't seriously hurt. The Chiefs have a short week ahead with another game soon. The Browns must regroup after this poor performance.
