North Texas is experiencing its coldest air of the season. This comes just before the official start of winter. The past few months have been unusually warm. The average temperature was around 73 degrees. This fall might even rank as the second warmest on record for DFW Airport. A strong cold front swept through on Saturday. It brought in a blast of Arctic air. Temperatures dropped by about 20 degrees in just 24 hours. Sunday morning saw lows in the low 30s. But with winds gusting up to 25 mph, it felt even colder. The wind chill made it feel like the low 20s. The cold weather is expected to stick around all day. The high for the day is forecasted to reach the mid-40s. But with the wind chill, it will feel more like the upper 30s. Northeasterly winds will continue to gust up to 25 mph. The skies will be partly cloudy. If you're heading to the Parade of Lights in Fort Worth, dress warmly. Monday will also be chilly. There might be a few spotty showers overnight. Temperatures will dip into the 30s again Monday morning. However, the chances of any wintry precipitation sticking to the ground are slim. Roads are expected to stay warm enough to prevent any travel issues. Temperatures will rise through midweek. Another cold front is expected to move through late Wednesday or early Thursday. More rain and cooler weather are in the forecast for the end of the week.
