Using your face to control your Chromebook. Google is making this a reality with Face control, an AI-powered feature that lets users navigate their device using facial gestures and expressions. This tool, initially revealed in December, is now rolling out to more users. Face control allows people with motor impairments or anyone else to move their cursor, select options, and even type out emails without a mouse or keyboard. The feature uses machine learning to detect facial movements and translate them into cursor actions and clicks. It recognizes up to 18 different gestures, like tilting your head or adjusting your mouth. Inspired by Google's Project GameFace, this feature aims to make computing more accessible for all.
Google is also introducing new education tools, including Gemini app for summarizing lessons and Class tools for remotely controlling student screens. Additionally, 20 new Chromebook models are expected to launch in 2025, along with updates to the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus.
