Coach Swap: Man Utd and Brighton Exchange Leadership Roles

Two English football clubs just made some surprising coaching moves. Manchester United sent their assistant coach Scott Rogers to Brighton & Hove Albion. The Red Devils had already brought him in as a midfield addition before his stint at the North End ended poorly.

Rogers spent a full year helping Marc Skinner run the squad. That season didn't go well though, so Skinner left the job. Now the man who worked there joins Brighton as their new Head of Coaching. He arrived from the big London club just recently.

On the other side of the country, Brighton's women's team announced Eva Olid as their new Head of Coaching. She comes from Manchester United too, where she started in 2025 after another managerial change at Liverpool. Her path mirrors Rogers' recent journey across England.

Both clubs seem to be shaking up their coaching hierarchies this summer. Man Utd lost its assistant coach role while gaining a new head coach. Brighton added a female leader from the men's side. These moves suggest each club is looking for fresh approaches to build better squads and achieve higher league finishes.
