Four teams are left in the college football playoffs. Each team has a coach who once worked with Nick Saban at Alabama. These coaches have a lot of respect for Saban. They believe he taught them a lot about the game.
Curt Cignetti coaches Indiana. He worked with Saban from 2007 to 2011. He said he learned more in one year with Saban than in 27 years as an assistant coach. Dan Lanning coaches Oregon. He was a graduate assistant for Saban in 2015. He said he took a pay cut to work with Saban. He wanted to learn as much as possible.
Indiana is undefeated this season. They have a chance to win their first national title. Oregon has only one loss. They lost to Indiana earlier this season. The two teams will play in the Peach Bowl. The game is on Friday at 7:30 p. m. ET.
Pete Golding coaches Ole Miss. He was Saban's defensive coordinator from 2018 to 2022. Mario Cristobal coaches Miami. He was an assistant coach at Alabama from 2013 to 2016. They will play in the Fiesta Bowl.
These coaches all have one thing in common. They learned from one of the best coaches in college football. They hope to use what they learned to win big games.
