Coffee Shop Owner Faces Meth Charges After Undercover Buy

Police in Elmhurst got word about drugs at a coffee shop inside a train station. The owner of that shop now faces drug charges. He is accused of selling meth. The case is now moving through court. The station is in Elmhurst.

He faces three serious felony counts. Two of them involve delivering meth. One count says he had meth with intent to deliver. He also got a lesser charge. That charge was about resisting a police officer. Another charge involved cannabis. A driver was accused of having cannabis illegally.

Prosecutors asked a judge to keep him in custody before trial. The judge, Joshua Dieden, gave him a pretrial release. Chicago police told Elmhurst police about worries they had. An undercover officer set up three buys. The first buy was about 4.26 grams. The second was 3.27 grams. The third was 7.33 grams. One buy happened at his shop. One happened at his home. He was arrested outside his shop. Officers said they found 29.4 grams in his pants pocket. His next court date was Nov. 23.

A report said a brown envelope held the drug. The envelope had the shop name on it. The first buy came on Aug. 31, 2026. The officer planned to get meth the next day. The buy was at the coffee shop. The officer took about 4.26 grams. The second buy came on Sept. 30. The third buy came on a Wednesday. The officer got 7.33 grams at the home. The owner was caught outside the shop later. He was released on pretrial release. The judge allowed that.
