Colorado Needs a Fresh Start: A Call for Practical Change
Colorado Springs, USAFri Jun 12 2026
A longtime Coloradan, a Navy veteran and a pastor, has stepped into the political arena to become the state’s next governor. He says Colorado has been led by one party for too long, and that this has caused budgets to grow out of control, schools to suffer, crime to rise, and everyday costs for families to climb. He believes the state’s future depends on smart money management, stronger local control of schools, tougher crime laws and a big push for affordable energy.
He says the state’s budget is full of waste and hidden deals. His plan would set up a new department to keep government efficient, publish every tax dollar online and audit agencies. He also wants to cut back on regulations that add extra costs for people who already pay high property taxes.
The governor would give parents more say in what their children learn. He plans to expand vouchers and charter schools, keep state control out of school boards and make sure curricula stay focused on reading, math and practical skills. He also wants to protect parents’ rights over medical care for their children.
To address crime, he would undo policies that let offenders escape tough sentences. He plans to give law‑enforcement agencies full funding and training, create a task force for drug and border problems, and expand mental‑health and faith‑based recovery programs. He also supports strong self‑defense laws.
On energy, he proposes a broad “Colorado Energy Freedom Act” that would open up all sources – oil, gas, coal, nuclear and renewables. He wants to remove environmental mandates that hurt farmers and businesses, cut red tape, and support skilled‑trade apprenticeships to create good jobs. The aim is lower gas, electricity and food costs while protecting the state’s natural resources.
Healthcare plans include checks for fraud in Medicaid, clearer price information and more options such as Health Savings Accounts and telehealth. He also pledges to limit emergency powers and defend patient freedom.
He adds that other important issues include election security, a fair judicial system, veteran support and protecting unborn life and conscience rights. He presents himself as a servant leader who will fight for ordinary people, not a career politician.
The message is clear: Colorado can do better if it takes back control of its finances, schools and public safety. The candidate says that by following common‑sense policies he can rebuild prosperity for all Coloradans.
