Construction Timeline
The old center will continue its 24/7 operations during the construction phase, which is expected to take approximately one year to complete.
Funding and Additional Services
Burrell Behavioral Health has received a $3 million grant from the city to fund this new facility. In addition to mental health services, they also provide support for individuals struggling with substance use problems.
Impact of the Old Center
The old center has already made a significant impact. From January to May, they handled 1,588 referrals. Impressively, they connected 94% of clients to care and successfully kept 37% out of hospitals.
A Step Forward for Columbia
The new center represents a major advancement in mental health care for Columbia. It will enable more residents to access the support they need, highlighting the city's commitment to improving mental health services.
