In recent news, several Democratic members of Congress from Connecticut were targeted with bomb threats at their homes. Jim Himes, Joe Courtney, and John Larson all faced this scary situation. The good news is that when police checked, they didn't find any actual bombs. This incident followed a similar one the day before, where some of Donald Trump's top picks for cabinet posts and appointments received bomb threats and fake emergency calls. Courtney's home in Vernon got a threat while his family was there. Himes found out about the threat while celebrating Thanksgiving with his family. The police from Greenwich and Stamford also showed up to help. Himes thanked the police for keeping his family safe.
He also said that political violence has no place in the country, and he hoped everyone could enjoy the holiday season peacefully. Larson's home also got a threat, and the East Hartford police checked it out. These threats come after a tough election season with previous violent incidents. In July, a gunman shot at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania, hitting Trump in the ear and killing one of his supporters. The Secret Service also stopped another assassination attempt while Trump was golfing in Florida. Some of the people who got threats included Elise Stefanik, Matt Gaetz, Lori Chavez-DeRemer, and Lee Zeldin.
