Microsoft has just rolled out an updated version of Copilot, its AI assistant, packed with new features to make life easier. One of the standout additions is Groups, allowing up to 32 people to chat with Copilot at once. Imagine planning a trip with friends and family, and Copilot helps suggest hotels and even polls everyone to pick the best one.
Copilot can now pull in data from various sources like OneDrive, Outlook, Gmail, and Google Drive. This means users can search across multiple services simultaneously, making it a breeze to find information. Plus, Copilot has improved its memory, so users can reference past chats and even ask it to remember specific details for future use. Privacy controls ensure that users can delete saved data if needed.
The update also introduces a new AI character named Mico in voice mode, which reacts to user instructions. There's also a “real talk” mode that makes Copilot's responses more witty and engaging. Microsoft has also enhanced Copilot's ability to research healthcare topics, grounding answers in reliable sources like Harvard Health. It can even help users find doctors based on specific criteria.
Copilot Mode in Edge browser has also been updated with a feature called Copilot Actions. This allows the assistant to perform tasks automatically, such as unsubscribing from newsletters or booking restaurant tables. This feature is currently in limited preview, while the other enhancements are rolling out in the U. S. and will be available in additional markets soon.
