Cops Seek Help in Masked Jewel Thieves' Spree
Bridgeview, IL, USAFri Nov 01 2024
Four masked men are on the run after pulling off a series of jewelry store heists across three states. The crew, known for their unusual masks, hit two stores in Bridgeview, Illinois, and two more in Michigan and Missouri. One of the robbers, Emad Elayyan, was caught and charged, but his accomplices are still out there. The FBI is asking for the public's help to identify these guys.
The spree started in July 2023 at Jawahir Jewelry in Bridgeview. Three robbers, all wearing masks, smashed display cases with an employee's gun and made off with gold jewelry. They were spotted in a white Kia Sorento with stolen plates. A few months later, they struck again at Jerusalem Jewelry, also in Bridgeview. This time, they used different plates on the same car.
The crew didn't stop at Illinois. They hit stores in Dearborn, Michigan, and Winchester, Missouri, too. During these robberies, the suspects wore masks of an "Uncle Bobby" character and the Slenderman. Employees were held hostage or threatened with hammers and assault rifles.
The masks, popular at Halloween stores, helped the robbers stay disguised. But the FBI is hoping someone recognizes these guys and comes forward with information.
