Cucumbers are being recalled after a salmonella outbreak affecting 68 people across the US and Canada. SunFed Produce, the company behind the veggies, announced the recall on November 26. The cucumbers, grown in Mexico, were sold in bulk containers labeled 'SunFed' or 'Agrotato'. They were shipped to various states like California, Florida, and even Canada. The outbreak strain, Salmonella Typhimurium, has hospitalized 18 people, but no deaths have been reported. Health agencies warn that these cucumbers might still be in your fridge, so check the stickers. If they say 'SunFed Mexico', toss them out.
SunFed is working with authorities to find the cause. They've prioritized food safety for over 30 years and ensure their growers comply with FDA rules. Symptoms of salmonella include diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps. Most people recover, but those with severe symptoms should seek medical help.
