PolandMon Jun 23 2025
Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 are in for a wait. The highly anticipated update 2. 3, expected to drop on June 26, 2025, has been pushed back. The developers, CD Projekt Red, need more time to polish it up. They want to make sure it's as good as the last big update, 2. 2, which was a massive deal. The studio thanked players for their patience, but didn't give a new release date.
The 2. 2 update was a game-changer. It brought new cars, more appearances from Johnny Silverhand, a revamped photo mode, and deeper character customization. Plus, it was packed with hidden secrets for players to uncover. So, the hype for update 2. 3 is real.
Cyberpunk 2077 had a rocky start when it launched in December 2020. Despite its issues, it sold 13. 7 million copies in just weeks, becoming one of the best-selling RPGs ever. Over time, the game improved, and the 2. 0 update felt like a fresh start. The Phantom Liberty expansion, featuring Idris Elba, came out in September 2023, and the game has now sold over 30 million copies.
The studio is also working on a sequel, Cyberpunk 2, but most of their team is currently focused on The Witcher 4. Recently, they even brought Cyberpunk 2077 to the Nintendo Switch 2. It turned out to be a hit, becoming the best-selling non-Nintendo game on the console at launch.
