Darby Allin's Bold Moves: From Everest to the Ring

USAWed Oct 15 2025
Darby Allin, a standout star in AEW, is gearing up for a big match at WrestleDream 2025. He's not worried about what others say. Allin has been with AEW since 2019, and the company has grown a lot, even with a TV deal with Warner Bros. Discovery. But fans can be tough, throwing insults at AEW because of the competition in the wrestling world. Allin talked to Newsweek Sports and said he's proud to be part of AEW. He doesn't let online gossip get to him, especially after achieving something huge: climbing Mount Everest. "When I was on top of Mount Everest, it made these problems seem so small, " Allin said. He's grateful for AEW's success, like setting a record for a wrestling show in just six years. Allin came back to AEW in July after his Everest climb. He's been in some wild matches since then. Climbing Everest was a big goal for him. He was excited and at peace with whatever happened on the mountain. Allin is in a heated rivalry with Jon Moxley. They'll face off in an "I Quit" match at WrestleDream. During a recent show, Allin tried to throw a Molotov cocktail at Moxley, but a security guard stopped him. Allin didn't expect the big reaction from fans. "What's normal to me is crazy to everyone else, " he said. Moxley recently held the AEW World Championship for 273 days. Some criticized his reign, but Allin thinks Moxley is a great leader in AEW. "He's willing to do anything for the company, " Allin said. He respects Moxley but doesn't always see eye-to-eye with him. Allin is confident his match against Moxley will be memorable. "It's going to get insane, " he said. He also praised other AEW stars like "Hangman" Adam Page and Will Ospreay for leading by example. Allin has a strong bond with AEW founder Tony Khan. He's grateful for the opportunities he's been given, like being able to climb Everest during his wrestling career. "He wants you to focus on your outside life and what makes you happy, " Allin said. Allin hopes fans will say his match against Moxley is a proper end to their wild feud. "I don't know what to expect, " he said, cautioning viewers to expect the unexpected.
