Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is set to hit the PS5 on June 26th. The game will cost $70, and preorders will start on March 17th. This is a big deal for fans who have been waiting for the sequel to the original game. The game's trailer is 10 minutes long and features a new song called "To the Wilder" by Woodkid. The trailer also shows off the game's cast, which includes big names like Norman Reedus and Lea Seydoux. The trailer hints at a theme of gun culture in America, which could be a big part of the game's story.
The game's preorder bonuses are pretty cool. Players who preorder will get an early unlock of the Quokka custom hologram, as well as Level 1, 2, and 3 Silver Skeletons: Battle, Boost, and Bokka. These are leg attachments that the protagonist, Sam Bridges, can use to boost his abilities.
The Digital Deluxe Edition of the game is also available for $80. This edition includes the full game, 48-hour early access, the Gold version of the Silver Skeletons, an early unlock for the Level 1 MP Bullet Machine Gun, and three patches: Patch 70: Quokka, Patch 71: Chiral Feline, and Patch 72: Why Me?
The Collector's Edition is the ultimate fan package. It includes everything in the Deluxe Edition, plus a 15" Magellan Man Statue, 3" Dollman figurine, art cards, and a letter from the game's creator. This edition will cost $230, but it does not include a physical copy of the game.
After the release of Death Stranding 2, Kojima Productions will move on to new projects called OD and Physint. These projects were impacted by the SAG-AFTRA strike, so it will be interesting to see how they turn out.
