Denali's Furry Little Stars: The Puppy Cam Phenomenon

Denali National Park, USAThu Jun 26 2025
In the world of wildlife webcams, a new star has emerged, and it's not the usual bear or eagle. Denali National Park has launched a livestream featuring five adorable sled dog puppies, and they're stealing hearts left and right. These little ones were born in May to Merlyn, a working sled dog at the Denali Kennels. Their names, Storm, Squall, Graupel, Fog, and Dew, reflect the wild Alaskan weather. The Puppy Cam gives viewers a front-row seat to the pups' daily life, from meal times to playtime. The cam is set up in the yard where the dogs spend most of their time. A handy sign lets viewers know when to tune in for feeding times, which are currently at 11:45 a. m. and 4:30 p. m. Alaska time. This isn't the first time a national park has captured the internet's attention with a livestream. Katmai National Park's Brooks River bearcam has been a hit, even inspiring an annual event called Fat Bear Week, where viewers vote for their favorite bear. But why are these puppy cams so popular? Maybe it's the innocence, the playfulness, or just the sheer cuteness. Whatever it is, one thing's for sure: these pups are giving the bears a run for their money in the webcam popularity contest.
