Detroit Golf Club: Weather's Big Test for 2025 Rocket Classic
Detroit, Michigan, USAThu Jun 26 2025
The 2025 Rocket Classic is set to challenge players in more ways than one. Last year, the tournament saw a mix of great golf and weather troubles. The first two days were fantastic, with players scoring well. But then, the weather stepped in, causing delays and pushing back the third round. The PGA Tour even shared the forecast, which wasn't looking good until later in the day. This made everyone wonder if the game would even start on time.
This year, the weather is already making its presence felt. On June 26, expect cloudy and humid conditions, with a thunderstorm likely in the afternoon. Temperatures will be high, around 88°F (31°C), similar to what players faced at the recent KPMG Championship. Winds will be moderate, and the UV index will be high, so players need to be careful.
The next day, June 27, the forecast is partly sunny but still hot and humid. Thunderstorms are possible again, and temperatures will be even higher, around 90°F (32. 2°C). The UV index will be extremely high, so players must take precautions. With an 80% chance of thunderstorms, staying weather-aware is crucial.
The final two rounds look more promising. On Saturday, temperatures will be comfortable, ranging from 20° to 30°. The humidity will be low, and the breeze will be slight, making it a great day for golf. Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny with warm temperatures between 23° and 32°. The chance of rain is low, just 10%, setting the stage for an exciting finish.
But will the players be able to handle the pressure and make the most of the good weather? Or will the competition get the best of them? Only time will tell.
