The woman running the Diaper Spa in New Hampshire is in deep trouble. She's been fined a whopping $17, 500 for advertising her spa as a mental health service without the right licenses. Dr. Colleen Ann Murphy isn't licensed to practice medicine in New Hampshire, where her spa was based. She's only licensed in New York and Maine. Murphy's spa was all about adults who like to dress up as babies and role-play. It offered services from virtual playdates to all-day pampering sessions. Neighbors weren't happy, and the town denied her home business permit. Murphy defended her spa, saying it had nothing to do with pedophilia. The first fine came in April, $10, 000 for marketing the spa as "physician-run. " Later, the state found she advertised mental health services without proper licensing. The spa's website had mentioned therapies like hypnoregression and cognitive behavioral therapy. Murphy said she only coached clients and didn't diagnose or prescribe treatments. Now, the spa's website has a disclaimer saying it doesn't provide medical advice. It also doesn't serve New Hampshire residents. The fines keep adding up, with the latest being $2, 500 and $5, 000 from the Board of Mental Health Practice and the Board of Psychologists, respectively.
