Diddy’s Early Release and Alleged Prison Luxe
Sean Combs, the hip‑hop mogul, will get out of prison sooner than first planned. Records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons list his new release day as January 21, 2028. He had been scheduled for June 2028, then the date slipped to late February 2028, and now it moves again to early January. The 56‑year‑old was sentenced to 50 months after being found guilty of moving prostitutes across state lines for drug‑fueled performances.
While behind bars, Combs allegedly enjoys a lifestyle that looks more like a suite than a cell. Inmates say he pays for cooks who bring him curry chicken, pizza and empanadas. He also reportedly gets Chinese‑style massages. One prisoner described it as "rich s—" and said it feels wild. Staff say he uses a hidden phone to scroll Instagram and view nude pictures sent by an ex‑girlfriend. He is also said to buy an antidepressant called Remeron from other inmates and keeps a secret stash of liquor that guards supposedly smuggle in. One man recalled drinking Hennessy with him.
Outside the prison, people claim they receive thousands of dollars through commissary accounts for doing favors for Combs. A spokesperson for Combs said the media is turning ordinary prison life into news and that he is following the rules while waiting for an appeal. The FCI Fort Dix spokesman said the facility cannot discuss individual conditions but noted that contraband, especially phones, drugs and weapons, is a constant problem. Inmates caught with phones face sanctions under the BOP’s discipline program.
The legal saga began after a high‑profile trial that included accusations from former girlfriend Casandra Ventura and producer Rodney Jones. In July 2025, Combs was convicted on two prostitution‑related counts but cleared of racketeering and sex‑trafficking charges. The civil suits and the criminal case have kept him in the headlines even as his prison term winds down.
