Djokovic's Wimbledon Milestone: A Look at His Historic Win
WimbledonSun Jul 06 2025
Novak Djokovic has done it again. He just won his 100th match at Wimbledon. This puts him in some pretty exclusive company. Only two other players have achieved this feat: Martina Navratilova and Roger Federer. Djokovic beat his fellow Serbian, Miomir Kecmanovic, in straight sets. The scores were 6-3, 6-0, and 6-4. This victory moved him into the round of 16.
Djokovic has always had a special place in his heart for Wimbledon. He calls it his favorite tournament. Growing up, he dreamed of playing and winning here. So far, he's won seven of his 24 Grand Slam titles on this grass court. He's also played in 20 Wimbledon tournaments. That's a lot of matches!
Next up, Djokovic will face Alex De Minaur. The Australian is currently ranked 11th in the world. If Djokovic wins, he'll move on to the quarterfinals. This would be his 68th time reaching the fourth round of a Grand Slam tournament. Only Federer has done it more, with 69.
Djokovic is also the only other man to win 100+ matches at two different majors since the Open era began in 1968. He's done it at both the French Open and Wimbledon. Federer has also achieved this, at Wimbledon and the Australian Open.
Djokovic is 38 years old. He's been playing tennis for a long time. He knows how lucky he is to still be competing at this level. He tries not to take anything for granted. He's grateful for everything tennis has given him.
In the match, Djokovic made just eight unforced errors in the first two sets. Kecmanovic made him work for the victory in the third set. But Djokovic is known for his mental toughness. He didn't let the pressure get to him.
