Donkey Kong's New Adventure: A Familiar Team Takes the Reins
JapanTue Jul 01 2025
Nintendo has a habit of keeping its game developers a mystery until the very end. But this time, they made an exception. At a recent event, Nintendo let it slip that the team behind the upcoming Donkey Kong Bananza is the same one that created Super Mario Odyssey. This is big news because Super Mario Odyssey is one of the most loved games in the Mario series.
The team is part of Nintendo's Entertainment Planning & Development group. They are known for making some of the best 3D Mario games. So, having them work on Donkey Kong Bananza is a good sign. It means the game might be just as fun and exciting as Super Mario Odyssey.
Speaking of Donkey Kong Bananza, a preview of the game was shared recently. The reviewer said that the game was so engaging that time just flew by. Even though the gameplay involves a lot of repeating actions, the reviewer still had a great time. This is a good indication that the game could be a hit.
Donkey Kong Bananza is set to release on the Switch 2 later this month, on July 17th. In June, Nintendo gave us a sneak peek of the game's musical twist and introduced us to the new villains, the Void Company. This group includes Grumpy Kong, Poppy Kong, and their leader, Void Kong.
With a talented team behind it and positive previews, Donkey Kong Bananza is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the Donkey Kong series. Fans of the franchise and newcomers alike have something to look forward to.
