The owner of Clifton’s Republic recently announced he would not reopen the nightclub after several attempts post‑pandemic, citing vandalism and a drop in visitors. A popular bar on Santa Monica’s corner, the Misfit Bar & Restaurant, also closed after fifteen years due to a wave of empty storefronts. Fans and patrons shared their sadness online, with one former employee reportedly trying to rescue the business.
