Drone Show Mishap in Orlando
Orlando, FL, USAMon Dec 23 2024
You're out for a festive evening in downtown Orlando. You're excited to see the holiday drone show over Lake Eola. Suddenly, something goes wrong. Several small drones crash into each other and fall into the crowd. This happened during the first show on Saturday night. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is now investigating what went wrong.
The show was supposed to have two parts, but the second one was canceled due to "technical difficulties. " One person was taken to the hospital with a minor injury. The city and the drone show vendor, Sky Elements, are working together with the FAA to figure out what caused the drones to collide.
Drone shows like this require special permission from the FAA. They check many things, like the software controlling the drones and how the operators handle emergencies. This was the third year for the Holiday Drone Show, and it usually draws a big crowd.
Videos of the incident show drones falling from the sky. Some even crashed into the water. People watching were shocked and wondered if this was supposed to happen. The FAA will look into what went wrong to make sure it doesn't happen again.
