In a recent development, Ukraine has used its drones to target a Russian oil depot. This incident happened in the city of Oryol, located approximately 230 miles from Moscow. Ukraine's military units have been striking Russia's energy and military infrastructure for some time now. These strikes aim to weaken Moscow's capabilities in its ongoing conflict. Videos shared by locals show a drone hitting a tank, leading to the explosions. However, these visuals cannot be independently verified.
The governor of Oryol Oblast, Andrey Klychkov, shared on Telegram that 11 drones were intercepted over the region. He also mentioned that the fire at the oil depot was contained, with no reported casualties. The local fire services are working to extinguish the remaining flames.
