Eagles Soar, Chiefs Crash: What's Next for Kansas City?
USAWed Feb 12 2025
The Kansas City Chiefs had their worst nightmare on February 9. The Philadelphia Eagles dominated the field, making the Chiefs' fans watch their dreams of victory slip away. For the Eagles, it was a huge win, 40-22. They lifted the Lombardi Trophy for the second time. But what's the takeaway? Emmanuel Acho, a former Eagles player, believes that the Eagles could be starting a new era. He thinks the Chiefs' reign might be over. Acho sees two key players, Zack Baun and AJ Brown, as crucial to the Eagles maintaining their winning streak. Baun's contract is up this offseason, but Brown is with the Eagles until 2029. Acho believes that keeping these guys will help the Eagles return to the Super Bowl. During the game, Bailey intercepted Mahomes, which led to a touchdown. By halftime, the Eagles were up 24-0. This was a huge win for the Eagles. Mahomes threw a pick six and then threw another pick when he was hit. Steve Young, a former quarterback, was amazed. He said, "He threw the pick six. He got hit and threw the next pick, and all of a sudden, it's 24 on nothing, and You've just put yourself in a bind you can't get out of. "For Mahomes, this was a tough loss. He knows it's hard to come back from a 24-point deficit. But that doesn't mean he's out of the game.
There are many factors to consider when thinking about the future of these teams. The Eagles have shown that they can dominate the field. But the Chiefs have always been known for their comebacks. Will they make a comeback next season? Only time will tell. But for now, the Eagles are on top.
