Eagles Stay Ahead Without Quarterback Jalen Hurts at Halftime

The Philadelphia Eagles are up 21-14 at halftime, but they’ve lost their starting quarterback, Jalen Hurts. Hurts suffered a concussion in the first quarter after a hit from Commanders linebacker Frankie Luvu. Despite the loss, the Eagles have outplayed the Commanders, with 263 total yards to Washington’s 156. Running back Saquon Barkley has been their star, rushing for 122 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.
Kenny Pickett stepped in after Hurts’ injury and has thrown for 84 yards, including a touchdown and an interception. Wide receiver Brown has made six catches for 74 yards and a score. The Eagles had a chance to extend their lead late in the half but missed a field goal attempt.
The Commanders’ quarterback, Jayden Daniels, has completed 8 of 15 passes for 108 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception. He connected with Jamison Crowder for a 6-yard touchdown and Terry McLaurin for a 32-yard score.
