Republican vice-presidential candidate, JD Vance, sparked debate recently by suggesting that former President Donald Trump didn’t actually lose the 2020 election. During a campaign stop, Vance stated that there were "serious problems" with the 2020 election and hinted at his belief that Trump didn't lose. He further insisted that big tech companies played a role in rigging the election. When pressed by reporters later, Vance remained firm in his views, stating that disagreement was acceptable. This isn't the first time Vance has avoided directly acknowledging Trump's loss. Back in early September, during an interview with the New York Times, he sidestepped the question five times. It's notable that Trump faced significant legal trouble, having been found guilty on 34 felony counts related to election interference. The Harris campaign was quick to criticize Vance's stance, labeling it as part of a broader pursuit for absolute power. Previously, Vance had been critical of Trump, even comparing him to Hitler before the 2016 election. However, as he sought to become Trump’s running mate, Vance shifted his stance to support Trump’s election denial claims. Vance’s views include the suggestion that former Vice President Mike Pence could have done more to address election issues. In a podcast interview, Vance suggested that he would have asked states to submit alternative slates of electors, sparking further debate. Despite his previous criticisms, Vance now aligns closely with Trump's views, stirring controversy in the political landscape.
