Tesla's recent rollout of its self-driving Robotaxi has landed Elon Musk in hot water. The production company behind the movie Blade Runner 2049 is suing him. Why? They say Musk used images inspired by the film for the Robotaxi launch without permission. These images were created using artificial intelligence. One image even looked like actor Ryan Gosling from the movie. Alcon Entertainment, the company behind Blade Runner 2049, says it rejected Musk's request to use movie imagery. They didn't want their film linked to Musk because of his controversial views. This isn't the first time something like this has happened. Actress Scarlett Johansson once refused to let her voice be used, and the company generated a voice that sounded just like hers. Tesla worked with Warner Bros. for the Robotaxi launch. Warner Bros. also released Blade Runner 2049. The lawsuit names Warner Bros. as a defendant too. Alcon Entertainment says Musk and Tesla infringed on their copyright. They aren't the only ones pointing fingers. The director of I, Robot thinks Tesla copied the design from his movie. This lawsuit raises questions about how we use technology and respect others' work. It makes you think about the boundaries between inspiration and imitation.
