Elon Musk, the world's wealthiest person, has clarified that he isn't interested in buying TikTok. He prefers starting companies from scratch rather than acquiring existing ones. This news comes as a relief to another potential buyer, Jimmy Donaldson, also known as MrBeast. Musk has a good relationship with China, having praised the country and operating a Tesla factory in Shanghai. Musk's comments were made public after a recent economic summit. He stated that he hasn't submitted a bid for TikTok and isn't eager to acquire it. He also mentioned that he doesn't use TikTok and isn't familiar with how it works. Musk's preference for building companies from the ground up raises questions about his acquisition of Twitter, now known as X. Musk explained that he bought Twitter to preserve freedom of speech, a motive he's not sure applies to TikTok. He believes that a TikTok ban in the US would be against freedom of speech and expression. Musk has been against a TikTok ban, stating that the current situation where TikTok operates in the US but X doesn't in China is unfair. MrBeast, a popular YouTuber and Amazon star, is interested in buying TikTok as part of an investment group. He responded to Musk's statement with a simple "Phew. "The future of TikTok in the United States is still uncertain. Trump has delayed the app's ban by 75 days, but it remains unavailable on US Apple and Google stores.
