Elon Musk's Daughter Speaks Out on Father's Controversial Gesture
Tokyo, JapanThu Mar 20 2025
Elon Musk's eldest daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, has recently shared her thoughts on her father's public actions. She has openly criticized Musk for what she believes was a Nazi salute performed at two rallies in January.
Wilson, now 20, has been vocal about her disapproval of her father's behavior in recent interviews. She described his actions as "fucking cringe" and his involvement in the federal government as "cartoonishly evil". She did not hold back when discussing her father's controversial gesture. "That shit was definitely a Nazi salute, " she stated firmly.
Wilson's public life began last year when Musk discussed her in a podcast. He revealed that he felt "tricked" into signing documents that allowed Wilson, then 16, to receive gender-affirming medical treatment. Musk's words sparked a lot of controversy. He mentioned losing his "son" and vowed to fight against what he called the "woke mind virus".
In a previous interview with NBC News, Wilson shared her experiences growing up with Musk. She described him as cold, quick to anger, and uncaring. She also revealed that he was often cruel to her for showing feminine traits. Wilson took legal steps to distance herself from her father, changing her name in court and stating she no longer wanted to be related to him.
Wilson's journey to self-acceptance was challenging. She struggled with mental health issues and felt trapped in a situation that was harming her. "I was constantly having mental breakdowns in the middle of class. I could not get through days. I didn’t want to wake up, I didn’t want to do anything. I just wanted to rot, pretty much. It was like, I cannot do this, " she shared. She felt that transitioning was crucial for her well-being and that staying in the closet would have led her down a destructive path.
Wilson, now a student in Tokyo, feels a responsibility to speak about trans issues. She wants to raise awareness about the importance of trans care for minors, especially puberty blockers. She believes that there is too much villainization of trans individuals and those who support them. She hopes to help others feel comfortable in their own skin.
The political climate has been tough for the transgender community. Conservatives have targeted them through legislation, and Trump's administration has implemented policies that affect trans people. Wilson, as a trans woman, is fearful of losing access to guaranteed medical care. She believes that her transition at a young age was vital for her survival.
Wilson's mother, Justine Musk, has been supportive of her journey. She does not keep in touch with Musk's side of the family. Musk, known for his pronatalist views, has 14 children with four different women. Wilson is unsure about her relationship with her siblings, stating that she does not know how many she has, including half-siblings.
Despite her father's wealth and influence, Wilson does not let him dominate her thoughts. She focuses on positive influences and does not give space in her mind to those who thrive on fear. She finds freedom in her mind through the performances of drag queens.
