Emirates and Its Global Sports Partnerships
London, UKSat Jan 11 2025
Emirates, the Dubai-based airline, has made a name for itself by sponsoring a wide range of sports teams and events globally. These sponsorships aren't just about money; they're about building brand awareness. One of the longest partnerships is with Arsenal FC in London, where Emirates' name has been on the team's jerseys since 2006, and will stay there until at least 2028. This deal also includes naming the stadium, Emirates Stadium.
But football isn't the only sport Emirates is involved in. They've been partners with the Rugby World Cup since 1987 and have sponsored teams like Real Madrid and AC Milan. Emirates even has special liveries on their planes featuring these teams' logos and players. They also support various local teams and events, like the UAE Pro League and the Dubai Rugby Sevens.
In tennis, Emirates sponsors all four Grand Slam tournaments and has a close connection with the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. They're also into basketball, golf, cricket, cycling, sailing, and horse racing. These deals show that Emirates isn't just flying people around; they're also bringing sports to the world.
