Think about self-care. Mostly, we think of facials, therapy sessions, and nails. But what about our breasts? Breast cancer affects Black women the most, yet breast health often takes a back seat. That's why Estée Lauder Companies launched the "Breast Care is Self-Care" campaign during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They want to change how we view self-care, making breast health a regular part of our routines. Just like we prioritize fitness and diet, we should make breast health a priority too. For over 30 years, Estée Lauder has been pushing for better health info and resources. Although we can't change our genes or age, we can reduce the risk with regular checks. Eshe Hill, manager of equity and philanthropic partnerships, says breast health shouldn't be a taboo subject. She does regular checks to know how her breasts feel throughout her cycle. Breast cancer is a big deal, accounting for about 30 percent of new cancer cases each year. Let's not forget the basics like diet, exercise, and no smoking. Add to that, regular mammograms (supported by monthly self-exams) and talking to doctors about risks. Self-care isn't just about feeling good; it's about staying healthy. As Janine Rhodes, assistant manager of communications, says, "By speaking up, we can make a difference, challenge stigmas, and support each other. "
