It's also losing foreign investors and faces a soon-to-be-big population problem. The EU's action has China fuming. Beijing's used to dividing and conquering, but this time, it didn't work. In response, China's telling car companies to stop building plants in EU countries that support the tariffs. This shows how China wants to weaken the EU and how it controls its companies. China's state media, Global Times, called for retaliation. It said China's patience is a sign of weakness. But what China really wants is to force the EU into better trade deals. It wants trade to be like a game of Monopoly, where it wins big and the EU says "thank you. " The EU now has a choice: stand strong or give in. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is leading the fight against China's unfair trade practices. China, though, likes EU Council President Charles Michel more because he's easier to please.
