Exciting Sports and Games Lineup for Nanaimo's 55-Plus B. C. Games

Get ready for an action-packed week in September! Nanaimo is gearing up to host the 55-Plus B. C. Games, welcoming over 2, 500 athletes aged 55 and above. Starting on March 1, participants can sign up to compete in a variety of sports like archery, badminton, bowling, and cycling. The city is working hard to prepare, with organizers finding great venues for each sport. The games will be a blast, combining sports and entertainment. Diana Johnstone, the organizing committee president, is excited about the upcoming event. She mentioned that the director of sport, Liz Williams, has found excellent places to host the different activities. Since Brechin Lanes closed, five-pin bowling will be held at Duncan Lanes Bowling Centre.Spencer Chandra Herbert, B. C. 's minister of tourism, arts, culture, and sport, believes these games will benefit athletes. "Sports help people live happy and healthy lives, " he said. "This year's games offer a wide range of competitions, showcasing top athletes. " The B. C. Seniors Games Society is grateful for Nanaimo's enthusiasm and the support from volunteers and sponsors. They are aiming to make the 2025 games in Nanaimo an amazing experience for everyone. The society hosts these games annually in different cities across the province. Nanaimo follows Salmon Arm as the host city, making it the biggest annual multi-sport event in the province. At least 1, 200 volunteers are needed to make the games a success.
