Blue Fox Entertainment Canada is making big moves. They just signed a deal to take over Unobstructed View Inc. and its U. S. counterpart, Unobstructed View LLC. This deal, announced during the American Film Market, will stretch Blue Fox's distribution reach across North America. The company's president, David Hudakoc, and EVP, Ian Goggins, praised Unobstructed View's founder, Jonathan Gross, for building a strong, passionate team. Gross will step back after a transition period to focus on new production projects. Unobstructed View has been around since 1993, founded by Gross, who has a history in the music industry. He's known for discovering talents like Tom Green and releasing hits like Don Cherry's "Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Hockey" and the Canadian TV series "Corner Gas. " The company has a solid grip on the physical media market in Canada, with distribution rights to major labels like Criterion, Kino Lorber, PBS, and Arrow. In 2017, Unobstructed View launched its own website for direct-to-consumer sales, expanding its digital presence in both Canada and the U. S. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Blue Fox, led by James Hunstman, is on a growth spree. They recently set up an umbrella company for their various businesses and took control of their financing arm, closing a new fund worth millions to support acquisitions in the distribution sector.
